The Lessons We Choose: Earth as a Learning Ground
By Prerna Chandra ·
“You will keep repeating the same lesson with different bodies, different situations, and different experiences until you finally learn.”
Have you ever wondered why certain patterns keep showing up in your life?
You meet someone new, and it feels different only to end up with the same heartbreak. You switch jobs, thinking this one will be better only to face the same toxic environment. You start over, hoping life will change and somehow find yourself right back where you started.
It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. And after a point, it starts to feel personal. “Why does this keep happening to me?” “What am I doing wrong?” “Am I cursed or just unlucky?”
But here’s the thing it’s not a curse. And you’re definitely not unlucky.
It’s a lesson.
And until you consciously break the pattern, life will keep replaying it just with different faces, different places, and different experiences.
The Life You Signed Up For
This might sound a little strange but what if I told you that you chose this life? Yes, including the heartbreak, the rejection, the abandonment, and the struggle.
Before you were born, when you were still a soul, you sat down and designed your life like a curriculum. You picked your family. You picked your major lessons. You picked your challenges not as punishment, but as expansion.
Why would you do that?
Because as a soul, you knew that growth doesn’t happen in comfort. It happens in contrast.
So you said“I want to learn self-worth.” The Universe said “Alright, then I’ll send you experiences where you’ll be abandoned, so you learn to find worth within yourself.”
You said “I want to understand unconditional love.” The Universe said “Okay, then I’ll send you people who break your heart, so you learn how to love without attachment.”
You said “I want to learn abundance.” The Universe said “Then I’ll make you struggle financially, so you learn how to shift from scarcity to abundance.”
And you agreed.
The only problem? The moment you were born, you forgot.
And now here you are living those very lessons you once chose, wondering why life feels so hard.
Why Does The Same Pain Keep Repeating?
Ah, now this is where it gets interesting.
Why do you keep attracting the same kind of partner who leaves you? Why do you keep landing in the same toxic work environment? Why does money keep slipping away no matter how hard you try?
Here’s the thing the Universe is not punishing you. It’s simply mirroring you.
If you struggle with abandonment → it’ll keep sending you people who leave, until you learn how to stop abandoning yourself. If you struggle with rejection → it’ll keep putting you in situations where you’re rejected, until you validate yourself first. If you struggle with scarcity → it’ll keep money out of reach, until you shift your inner belief around abundance.
The Universe doesn’t respond to what you want. It responds to who you are. And until you shift your inner energy — the same patterns will keep replaying in your life.

The Pain Is Not Punishment. It’s A Lesson.
I know what you’re thinking “Okay, but why does it have to hurt so much?”
Because pain is a powerful teacher. And sometimes, the only way we truly learn is through discomfort.
It’s not that the Universe wants you to suffer it’s just that suffering is often the fastest way to growth.
You see, if you had never experienced heartbreak, would you have ever learned self-love? If you had never faced rejection, would you have ever learned inner validation? If you had never faced financial struggle, would you have ever understood abundance?
The pain was never there to destroy you it was there to evolve you.
Breaking The Pattern: How To Finally Graduate From The Lesson
Now here’s where things shift.
If the same lesson keeps repeating in your life how do you finally break it? How do you graduate from the pain and step into freedom?
The answer: Respond differently.
The lesson doesn’t end when you “figure it out.” It ends when you respond differently.
If you’ve always chased after people who abandon you this time, choose yourself. If you’ve always worked hard to prove your worth this time, stop over-explaining and let your work speak. If you’ve always feared scarcity this time, embody abundance before the money arrives.
The moment you shift your energy, the Universe no longer has to teach you the lesson. Because you’ve finally graduated.
But Why Is Letting Go So Hard?
Ah. This part hurts the most.
By now, chaos has become familiar. Struggle has become your home. Pain has become your comfort zone.
And so when the Universe finally offers you peace you don’t know how to receive it.
The relationship feels too easy. The job feels too calm. The abundance feels too unrealistic.
And without realizing it you sabotage it. Not because you want to. But because peace feels unfamiliar.
So What Was The Point Of All This Pain?
This is the part that will make you tear up a little.
The heartbreak? It wasn’t to break you. It was to build you. The rejection? It wasn’t to diminish you. It was to redirect you. The struggle? It wasn’t to punish you. It was to expand you.
The Universe never hated you. It just loved you so fiercely that it refused to let you stay small.
So it broke you down. It made you question everything. It shattered everything you once clung to so you could finally find your true power.
And now? Now it’s simply waiting for you to finally say “I get it. I’m ready to choose differently.”
But How Do You Know When You’ve Learned The Lesson?
This is the magical part.
You’ll know you’ve learned the lesson when:
- That ex no longer triggers you.
- That toxic work culture no longer feels like home.
- That scarcity mindset no longer consumes you.
- That deep need for external validation finally disappears.
You’ll feel it. Peace will no longer feel unfamiliar. Abundance will no longer feel unrealistic. Love will no longer feel temporary.
And you’ll realize the Universe was never against you. It was training you.

What Lesson Is Life Trying To Teach You Right Now?
I want you to pause and ask yourself –What pattern keeps repeating in my life? Is it abandonment? Scarcity? Betrayal? Lack of self-worth?
And now, here’s the big question How can you respond differently this time?
Because the truth is The Universe isn’t testing you. You aren’t cursed. You didn’t do anything wrong.
You simply haven’t graduated from the lesson yet. But the moment you respond differently the cycle will end. Instantly.
