The Stories We Tell Ourselves

By Prerna Chandra ·

“Fear and faith have one thing in common they are both invisible, and they both demand you to believe in something you cannot see. The choice, however, is always yours.”

The Two Wolves Within You

There were once two wolves living inside a man. One constantly whispering, “What if you fail? What if you lose everything? What if something terrible happens?” The other gently nudging, “But what if it works out? What if you are protected? What if everything is happening in your favor?”

Every day, these two wolves fought and every day, the man felt torn between panic and hope, despair and belief, fear and faith.

One day, he finally asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The answer was simple “The one you feed.”

And isn’t that exactly how life works?

We wake up every morning standing at the intersection of two choices fear or faith. We can either believe in the worst or surrender to the best. And the wildest part? Neither has happened yet we’re simply predicting outcomes based on the energy we are feeding.

But here’s the real question Why is it so much easier to believe in fear than in faith?
We’re not born with fear. It’s not natural. But we are conditioned into it. Think about it. From childhood, how often were we told:

And so, without realizing it, we developed fear as our defense mechanism. We believed that if we anticipated the worst, we could somehow protect ourselves from disappointment. But here’s what we weren’t told fear doesn’t protect you; it imprisons you.

And faith? Faith requires you to do the most terrifying thing of all-let go of control. Trust in the unknown. Expect something good, without a guarantee. And honestly? That’s hard.

“Fear keeps you in the illusion of control. Faith invites you into the unknown where miracles happen.”

Can Fear Manifest Bad Things

People often think, “If I’m afraid of something, I will manifest it.” But that’s not how energy works. Fear vibrates at a low frequency. In order for fear to manifest something bad, you would need to stay intensely consumed in fear energy for a long period of time which most of us don’t. We have fearful thoughts, yes but we also counter it with hope, joy, gratitude, or distraction.

So, NO having a fearful thought here and there does not manifest bad outcomes. It’s not that simple.

But here’s what fear does do:

Fear doesn’t bring bad luck. It simply creates blind spots for good luck. And that’s the real tragedy.

So the next time you find yourself thinking, “I’m afraid this will go wrong,” don’t panic. Simply shift. Instead of resisting fear, breathe through it. Let it pass through you without judgment.

Because here’s the secret:

“Fear only becomes powerful when you fight it. But when you feel it, acknowledge it, and release it -it loses its grip.”

Toxic Positivity: Why ‘Just Be Positive’ Is Harmful

You’ve probably heard it before “Just think positive! Don’t be negative!”

And while it sounds helpful, it’s actually harmful. Why :

The truth is you don’t need to eliminate fear; you need to feel it. You need to sit with it, acknowledge it, and then gently release it. This is how you shift from fear to faith.

“Healing doesn’t come from avoiding darkness, but from walking through it.”

Faith Is Not The Absence of Fear, It’s Moving Through It. People get confused. They think having faith means never feeling afraid.

Wrong.

Faith doesn’t mean eliminating fear. It simply means not acting from fear. It means allowing fear to show up but choosing to respond with faith anyway.

So the next time you’re anxious about something
Pause.
Acknowledge the fear.
But instead of feeding it, ask yourself:

“What if it actually works out for me?”“What if I am being divinely guided right now?”“What if everything happening is part of a higher plan?”

And watch how your energy instantly shifts.

Why Is Letting Go So Damn Hard?

Ah, the hardest part letting go of control.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth we love control. It makes us feel safe. We want guarantees. We want clear outcomes. We want assurance.

But faith doesn’t work like that.

Faith is like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute, hoping the net will appear. And do you know the hardest part? The net doesn’t appear until you jump.

But the ones who do jump? They experience miracles. Unexpected opportunities. Divine alignments. Outcomes better than they ever imagined.

“Control is an illusion. Surrender is the real superpower.”

How To Shift From Fear To Faith (In Practical Steps)

How do you practically move from fear energy to faith energy? Here’s how:

1. Feel It Fully : When fear shows up, don’t resist it. Feel it. Say “I am scared, and that’s okay.” This alone releases 50% of its power.

2. Flip The Thought : Instead of “What if it goes wrong?” consciously say “What if it works out better than expected?”

3. Visualize The Best Outcome : Close your eyes and imagine the best possible scenario. Feel it in your bones. Shift your energy.

4. Release Control: Say “I don’t know how, but I know it’s working out for me.” Trust that you are divinely guided.

5. Practice Gratitude In Advance: Thank the Universe before it happens. Gratitude speeds up manifestation.

Fear Will Knock, But Don’t Let It Stay

Here’s the raw truth fear will never fully leave you. It will always knock at your door, especially when you’re about to level up.But the key is don’t let it stay. Don’t let it make decisions for you.

Feel the fear.
Acknowledge it.
But choose faith anyway.

Because here’s the most powerful truth:

Fear demands you to believe in something you can’t see: failure.
Faith demands you to believe in something you can’t see: miracles.

So… which one will you choose today?
